Applying for School Transport

School transport update

Previously, students would be issued with a dedicated bus pass for the school bus. This would only allow them to catch the specific bus to Huxlow Academy and could not be used on any other service.  From September 2025, NNC removed the dedicated school buses and students are now expected to use public buses. Huxlow Academy have worked with NNC to ensure the relevant public buses come into school grounds to drop off and collect students so they remain supervised.

Stagecoach Mega Rider Bus Passes - Finedon

North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) School Transport Team now issue Stagecoach Wellingborough Mega-Rider bus passes for the students to use. These are digital passes that are held via the Stagecoach mobile application.

NNC are responsible for issuing these passes – they cannot be issued or administered by the school.

They are downloaded to the students mobile phones by using a code that will be sent to the parent’s email address. Full instructions on how to download the app and access the pass will be sent with the code.

The Mega-Rider bus pass can be used on any Stagecoach service, within the designated zone, 7 days a week. This includes such places as Rushden Lakes and so we hope will be of greater benefit to the students.

With effect from 22nd September, Stagecoach will require all students to produce a valid bus pass for free travel.

Finedon

Woodford and Addington

Students eligible for free school travel to and from school are issued with a physical bus pass once parents/carers have applied.  They will be expected to show their passes on all occasions they wish to travel to and from school.

Students travelling to school form Kettering, Barton Seagrave and Burton Latimer should use the 50S in the morning and the 50 in the afternoon.  Both buses come into the school grounds to pick up.
